Virgina Conflict Resolution Center (formerly Community Mediation Center) Newsletter |
| Dear Reader,
Greetings from the Virginia Conflict Resolution Center.
The holidays are rapidly approaching and the Center has been busy preparing for an event filled new year. 2010 marks the 20th Anniversary for the Center and to celebrate we will be hosting many exciting activities and events throughout the year.
As the only nonprofit conflict resolution center in southeast Virginia, we have been serving the community and impacting lives with our innovative programs and services. Our caring and dedicated staff work hard to meet the needs of everyone. No one is ever turned away because of their inability to pay.
We encourage you to renew your commitment to the Center and be a part of the valuable services we provide.
Have a safe and happy holiday season.

Community Mediation Center Name Change
The Community Mediation Center of Southeast Virginia (CMC) is pleased to announce our new name, Virginia Conflict Resolution Center (VCRC). This name change reflects our continued commitment to continuously improving our education and conflict resolution services. In addition, our new name more accurately reflects our goal of helping Hampton Roads resolve, reduce and prevent conflict. The Virginia Conflict Resolution Center, a 501(c) 3 community- based nonprofit, has been educating and providing conflict resolution services to families, youth, individuals, and the community since 1990. The VCRC, a United Way Community Partner of the Year in 2004 and 2006, is Hampton Roads' only non-profit mediation center. Last year we served 5,580 low income families or individuals whose income was at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. |
