Did you know that volunteers giving over 3,655 hours of service, the Community Mediation Center provided mediation and conflict resolution services to over 938 economically disadvantaged families, individuals, and youth; handled a total of 805 conflict situations; and spent more than 1,400 hours in providing mediation services. Volunteering really makes a difference, but it is the monetary donations that keep the doors open to provide these invaluable services.
Donations can be made in many ways, and not every way will work for everyone. Please consider the options below, or call to find other options that work for you and your family.
Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credits
The Neighborhood Assistance Program is one option that the Center is eligible to provide. Since the Center provides education and services to low income families, the Virginia Department of Social Services has given us the "stamp of approval." Any cash or in-kind donation over $500 made between July 1 and December 31 is eligible for a 45% tax credit on your Virginia State Taxes. Click on the title to find out more about how this program works!
Year-end giving is a great way to help fund unmet needs at the Center while capitalizing on your allowable charitable tax deductions. Just imagine yourself in a tough position - Where would you turn for help? There is no doubt that the Community Mediation Center is impacting Hampton Roads, but with your help the center can accomplish even more! Also, (just like mediation) this is a Win / Win Situation...get your commemorative "Peace" Art today by following this link.
Finding Common Ground Endowment Fund
The Finding Common Ground Endowment Fund has been established in partnership with Leave a Legacy - Hampton Roads, and is in its early stages. "Because we live in an area as rich in history as it is ripe with opportunity, Leave A Legacy® Hampton Roads seeks to promote the concept that each of us has a duty to provide generously for those who come after us". A legacy can support youth conflict resolution programs, strengthen families through services or training, and empower people in disputes. In short, an endowment or legacy allows the person who left it to continue making a difference long after he/she is gone.
